So I can’t believe I can finally say this after four years, but last month I actually graduated! And the week before that, I got my first proper adult job as a Graphic Designer. Safe to say, life is moving pretty fast right now. Now, prepare for all the vomit-enducing clichés. My whole university experience really has been a rollercoaster, and as much as I’ve always said I can’t wait to graduate and get a job so I am no longer a poor student (extra poor because I actually have an adult house where I’m expected to cook proper food that didn’t cost 10p and didn’t once have mould on it)- I’m just a teeny bit scared that this is actually it. Like, it. So grab a cup of coffee, slice of cake, and an all-you-can-eat buffet, kids- this is gonna be a long one. View Full Post
It’s so good to be back to blogging, I can’t even tell you how long overdue this return to my blog has been! I have to apologise in advance, because I’m talking about food- again. I’m not gonna lie, these most recent posts are quite old, because I wrote them and then just got stuck in a blogging dilemma where I’d written loads of posts about food and nothing else, so then I just didn’t post any of them until now and it’s about 3 months later *facepalms*. Basically, I’m not worried about that anymore- I want to publish the posts that I’ve written so I can get on with writing new content with a clear conscience. Now, we all know I love food, and when I have something to celebrate it’s the first thing that comes to mind. So when I handed in my final ever university project, obviously a meal out with George was in order! I bought a Groupon deal for Pieminister in Leeds before we went to Dublin in April, because I’d always wanted to go and it was less than £17 for two mains and drinks with the voucher! View Full Post
What’s the best way to celebrate finishing your degree? Unlimited cocktails, delicious food and live music, I hear you say? You would be right. A few months ago (yep, sorry about that) after doing a presentation on my independent project in front of all my tutors, I was officially D.O.N.E with my degree, and feeling pretty awesome. The lovely Kayleigh had been invited to the #RoadToRio event to launch their new lunch menu at Cabana in Trinity Leeds and I was so grateful that she asked if I wanted to come along with her. Who could say no to a free celebration, Brasilian Barbeque style? View Full Post
So, I just mentioned this in my post on my travel plans for this year, but me and George went to stay in Bowness-on-windermere for the night last week as a little impromptu getaway! It was everything I hoped it would be and more, and it was the perfect thing to clear my head after getting so bogged down with my dissertation and independent project for my final year at uni. Also, we’ve been trying to be super-healthy recently, so we definitely needed a break to just eat whatever we wanted and relax… View Full Post
I have been stuck in a bit of a blogging rut recently, I have to admit. Since starting my YouTube channel, I’ve been much more focussed on making videos than writing, and of course the familiar stab of blogger envy (not feeling like anything I write is good enough, being overly critical of all my photos, you get the gist) holding me back. Anyway, I decided to just take the pressure off myself and write something. Today seemed like a good day to write about my travel plans for 2016, because last night George and I booked a spontaneous night away in the Lake District in just a few days’ time!
So I was looking at my Booking.com app and all the exciting trips we’ve got coming up (we’ve booked them all through their website as their prices and ‘pay when you stay’ policy are both pretty ideal. Who wants to book and pay everything upfront? It’s much easier to save up in the time you’ve got until you stay, which is what we’re doing for our trips this year. View Full Post
