Styling Summer Shoes with Buckley London*

When it comes to jewellery, I wear quite a bit but it’s usually my staples that I wear every day; a white gold and diamond heart necklace that George bought me for my 15th birthday (n’aww), my Pandora bracelet that has great sentimental value as all the charms were bought for me by friends and family, my white gold, blue topaz and blue sapphire Ernest Jones ring that I got from my family for my 21st last year, the Marc Jacobs watch I bought on my trip to New York in December, and the Thomas Sabo simple chain bracelet with a heart charm that George bought me a few years ago for Christmas. However, I now have some new beauties to add to my collection…

I was lucky enough to receive three gorgeous bracelets and a pair of earrings* from Buckley London, and I thought ‘How am I going to integrate these with all my usual jewellery- will I have to sacrifice some of my usual bracelets?’ Surprisingly, the answer is no! I treated myself to a couple of new pairs of shoes for summer on my trip to Manchester a few weeks ago, and my sparkly new pieces make the perfect companions for them.

Buckley London have been around since 1989, and they are costume jewellery specialists! They are stocked all over the UK, and are pretty reasonably priced. It’s the kind of price range where you wouldn’t buy them for cheap, changeable jewellery, but they’re not investment pieces either- it’s the sort of place you’d want to buy a lovely present for your best friend or your mum, from somewhere a bit different!

I spent ages trying on shoes in Clarks, but because they’re not the cheapest place in the world, I had to make sure I was totally happy with my shoes. I don’t own hundreds of pairs of shoes- I usually only have a few pairs of daytime flats/sandals that I will wear on rotation throughout spring/summer, before it’s back to my trusty winter boots for the rest of autumn/winter. It’s important to me that I find shoes that last- my trusty ALDO loafers may be falling apart now, but I wore them almost every day since April last year when I bought them up until October when the boots came back out, so they had a good run and I still wear them now!

These lace up shoes from Clarks are a great neutral pair to wear when the weather isn’t quite suitable for sandals, and they come with a lovely cushioned insole inside so they are so comfy- as long as you don’t tie them too tight!

They look great next to the mesh rose gold and gold bracelets from my Buckley London goodies, and I think the warm yet neutral colour of these shoes would lend itself really well to a pair of bright floral trousers and matching blazer- with rose gold or gold accessories of course! I love the detail on the bracelets- I’m not usually a fan of a lot of sparkle, but the subtlety of the design makes them tasteful, not tacky.

Next up are my gorgeous woven t-bar sandals from New Look. Although I prefer a sandal that shows off brightly coloured painted toenails, these were so comfy when I tried them on that I couldn’t resist! And you can still see little peeks of nail colour through the gaps…

These would look great with gold or silver accessories, but I chose to pair them with my Buckley London silver sparkle mesh bracelet and beautiful glitzy ear studs. They are a great pair of everyday earrings, but can also jazz up a simple dress for cocktails too! I’ll be honest and say I prefer the other two bracelets, as I think the dangling charm thing can be a bit tacky (especially as I already wear two real charm bracelets!) but I do like the darker silver colour of this one- it doesn’t look too bright and glitzy which I prefer.

What do you think to my new purchases? Are you a fan of the Buckley London pieces? Have you got your summer footwear sorted for this year yet?
