My Top 5 Lipsticks I’m Using Right Now

Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank all of my followers to date on WordPress and Bloglovin’- I reached 100 followers last week and I’m already on my way to 150! Considering I have only been working hard on my blog for 6 weeks, I am so so pleased with the amount of support I have received in this short time, and I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading so far :) I would like to share my favourite go-to lip products that I have been wearing this winter (I tend to opt for more bright pinks and corals in the summer so there’ll be another list for then!)

I never used to wear lipstick, because I always felt too ‘made-up’, but then I realised that it was a great way to express my personality and there are so many different colours to try, you needn’t feel as though you have too much make-up on.

These are my 5 favourites at the moment, and I carry this little selection in my handbag at all times so I can choose the colour I want depending on my mood (I always do my lipstick on the train into work as I never have time to finish my make-up in the mornings!)

From left to right (above and below):

1. Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick in Dangerous

[I don’t know this for definite as I got it in the Rock On Ruby Blogswap and there’s no colour or type on the tube] An absolutely bargain from Fragrance Direct here at just £1.99- they have loads of colours to choose from! The one I have has a beautiful subtle gold shimmer to it, and I think it would suit all skin tones as I’m really pale and still love this rich brown/red colour. I may have to invest in more at that price, as I love the creamy texture and it stays on very well too.

2. Clinique Chubbystick in Super Strawberry

I got this as a free gift with Glamour magazine ages ago, and it is one of the best freebies I’ve ever had! This has lasted me over a year now, and I just love the subtle berry shade. It’s great for wearing over the top of matte lipsticks because of its sheer colour, but I wear it mostly on its own as a moisturising tint of colour! This is definitely my go-to every day product which I put on without really thinking about. You can buy a full-size one here, but they’re not cheap so check out my Soap & Glory favourite alternatives below and in my review here!

3. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds in Blake

Hands up who is obsessed with Blake Lively? *hand shoots up* She is my ultimate girl crush, and during Christmas party season I was looking for the perfect red lipstick to wear with my slinky black maxi dress. I’ve always tried and shied away from red lipstick as they tend to make my lips look really small and doll-like, and being blonde and pale its so hard to find the right shade. But when I saw that Blake, with similar colouring to me (obviously minus the gorgeous LA bronzed tan), had brought out her own shade for L’Oreal (in gorgeous packaging nonetheless) I had to snap one up. These lipsticks in general are just a pleasure to wear, because of the beautiful velvety texture and amazing pigmentation. You can get two for £12 in Boots at the moment here *rushes to Boots.*

4 & 5: Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayons

[Came in a gift set for Christmas, but I managed to scout out similar colours in the current range in my full review of them here] These are my other two go-to daily products because the colours are so wearable and easy to apply, or wear on top of a matte lipstick (I frequently wear the coral-pink over my Blake lipstick when I want to add a bit of shine and make the colour last longer). At £8, they’re a much more affordable drugstore alternative to Clinique’s Chubby Stick and, although the formula is ever-so-slightly stickier, this is the only noticeable difference and I would highly recommend these from here (and on 3 for 2 at the moment- go, go, go!).

In this photo- the two Soap & Glory crayons are in the opposite order- to the swatches above. How gorgeous is the packaging for L’Oreal’s Blake lipstick? So classy, and a bargain compared to some designer lipsticks with packaging just as beautiful.
