Cabana Trinity Leeds Raspberry Caipirinhas

What’s the best way to celebrate finishing your degree? Unlimited cocktails, delicious food and live music, I hear you say? You would be right. A few months ago (yep, sorry about that) after doing a presentation on my independent project in front of all my tutors, I was officially D.O.N.E with my degree, and feeling pretty awesome. The lovely Kayleigh had been invited to the #RoadToRio event to launch their new lunch menu at Cabana in Trinity Leeds and I was so grateful that she asked if I wanted to come along with her. Who could say no to a free celebration, Brasilian Barbeque style? View Full Post

Anyone who knows me well will know that there is little that excites me more than afternoon tea. Okay, that may be a bit of an overstatement, as there are many things that make me giddy, but the prospect of cute little cakes, miniature sandwiches and fancy china is just so adorable and colourful that it is definitely one of my favourite activities. When an offer popped up on Living Social to enjoy afternoon tea for a reduced price at the cutest little cupcake emporium in Harrogate, Mama Doreen’s, naturally I jumped at the chance.

Table, flowers and tea strainer at Propertea Manchester

It would be an understatement to say that the quest for a ‘proper cuppa’ is a British institution. I absolutely love tea, which would make my 15 year-old self’s jaw hit the floor, as I never used to- I just didn’t see how something that was essentially a cup of hot water and milk could taste any good! Oh, how wrong I was. I am now obsessed with all things tea– green tea, fruit tea, and of course the classic English Breakfast tea. I am from the home of Yorkshire Tea, after all (the factory is a 5-minute walk from my house!)

When me and my mum visited Manchester last week to see Take That (I won’t go too far into it, or I’ll just start gushing about how amazing it was and how there was a flying bike and sea creatures and breathe, Emma), we stayed overnight so we could have a little shop the day after. It was a happy accident that when we went to see Olly Murs last month, we stumbled across the adorable Proper Tea at Manchester Cathedral, and this time we had the chance to pay them a visit! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love food. The same applies to cocktails, and music. Particularly live music. Can you see where I’m going with this? Yep, myself and four other bloggers were invited to an evening consisting of all of the above at the outstanding The Botanist bar and restaurant in Leeds.* It was my first visit, despite wanting to go and hearing fabulous things since it opened, and needless to say I was not disappointed…

Hello my fellow foodies!

Ahhh, despite my undying love of stationery, it does feel good to be writing about something else for a change! Back to my biggest love- food. April was dominated by recipes I’ve found from other bloggers and saved to my ‘Recipe’ collection on Bloglovin (genius), as I feel like I’ve exhausted Pinterest for a while. Let’s see what I’ve been gracing my kitchen with lately…
