Valentine’s Lingerie Guide 2016

Valentine's Lingerie Guide

It’s that time of year again!

I did a lingerie guide to celebrate Valentine’s Day last year, and I love looking at gorgeous undies so I thought why not to one again this year?! Although it’s majorly depressing for my bank balance doing this, it is my duty to share my favourite lingerie picks with you all. Whether you’ve got someone to show them off to, or if it’s just to make yourself feel good (and why the hell not?) it’s the perfect time to splash out on something you wouldn’t usually buy. I rarely buy new underwear for myself, and usually leave it down to my mum at Christmas and birthdays, and I suspect there’s a lot of people out there who are the same as me! Go on, treat yourself to something fabulous.

Boux Avenue Black Floral Bra  Boux Avenue Black Floral High-Waisted briefs

Boux Avenue Amber Oriental Rose Balconette Bra / High Waisted Briefs

I’ve never actually owned any underwear from Boux Avenue, but I soooo wish I did after searching through their collection for my Valentine’s favourites. This oriental floral number and matching high waisted pants are to die for. I love the way high waisted knickers look- all fun and retro and sassy- and the colours work really well on these. This set is really classy but still sexy with the lace and bow detailing.

Boux Avenue Blue Floral Bra  Boux Avenue Blue Floral set

Boux Avenue Bettie Floral Plunge Bra / Thong

The cornflower blue colour of this set is just my favourite thing ever. It looks unbelievably pretty with the little coral flowers and gorgeous lace. A bit more flirty than sexy, but it’s practical enough to wear every day to give you that confidence that only a matching underwear set can give. I think I might have to add this to my basket and hit ‘checkout’ before I change my mind…

Fleur of England Black Body  Fleur of England sheer body

Fleur of England Belle de Nuit Guipure Baroque Body / Allure Silk and Lace Body

These two pieces are a teeny bit naughty because they’re not exactly purse-friendly, but I discovered Fleur of England through Instagram and I couldn’t not include just a couple of guilty pleasures that I will probably never ever own. How gorgeous is the plunge-style black body? Click on the link because it looks just as gorgeous from the back *heart-eye emoji* I love how pretty the Allure body is, it’s so delicate and I think the simplicity of the strip down the middle is just gorgeous.

H&M Black Lace Body  H&M Nude Bod

H&M Black Lace Bodysuit / Nude Lace Body

H&M are actually amazing for gorgeous, really affordable lingerie. They’ve got loads of classic bodysuits in at the moment, like this sexy black number that I might have purchased the other week whilst I could take advantage of their 20% student discount. The nude lacy body caught my eye a couple of weeks ago and I am in love– the shape of the lace and the little ribbon round the waist just make it so pretty and girly, but sexy at the same time. They do it in black or maroon as well if you’re not keen on nude- I love it on the hanger, but on me I think nude would make me look like I’m channelling Casper for the night.

Ann Summers Valentines set

Ann Summers Bette Plunge Bra / Bette Short

Valentine’s Day is the only time when pink and red are actually allowed to go together, and it works so well in this beautiful satin set. The shape of the bra is my favourite kind to wear, and I love how much lace they have put across the cup and on the pants too.

Rosie for M&S Black Bralet set M&S Blue Silky Set

M&S Rosie for Autograph Black Smoothing Bralet / French Lace High Leg Knickers / Silk & Lace Motif Underwear Set

And, of course, any lingerie guide of mine would not be complete without a couple of pieces from Marks & Spencer- my favourite place to buy and wear underwear from. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s collection for Autograph is one of my favourites, and I also love bralets, so the black set is my actual favourite thing in the world right now. I mean, who could resist? I’m also a big fan of the bras that have the lace extending up from the cup to the strap (there must be a proper name for that, hmm…) and this pretty blue set looks absolutely stunning. M&S always get it right.

So, I hope you’re all looking forward to this weekend, and have an amazing time however you’re going to spend it! Me and George are going for a boozy brunch to celebrate the fact I’ve got the day off work, and then I’ll be picking up the M&S Dine-in for our dinner- it’s becoming a little tradition for us and I actually love staying in just us two.
